Hamilton Cabinets owner Jim Nelson has been with the company since he began as an apprentice with the company’s original owner, Bill Hamilton, in 1980. Nelson became the company’s owner in 1996.
Located in the restored Burdell Building at the corner of East D Street and Lakeville Highway in Petaluma, California, Jim continues to carry on Bill’s passion for custom woodworking, and has established himself as one of the North Bay’s finest craftsman.
To see photos of Jim’s previous work, please visit both the Gallery and Case study pages of this site. In the past 25 years, Jim has been challenged by jobs such as building entire rooms of grain-matched wall paneling; building custom kitchen islands and storage units; and completing total home restoration projects for Victorian-era homes.
Hamilton Cabinets is the recipient of several awards for excellence for historic restorations, which given by Heritage Homes of Petaluma. In addition, owner Nelson shared the Builder Magazine Watermark Award (2004) with Mahoney Architects (Tiberon, California) for his work on the Davison kitchen in Penngrove, California. |
